If you love your mother as much as I do, then I highly recommend you treat her right, especially on mothers day. Celebrate her legacy by opening one (or all three) of these amazing wines. Please feel free to contact me via Twitter if you need help finding any of these wines.
Belle Glos “Meiomi” Pinot Noir $25-$28
This soft, elegant wine is both savory and refreshing. Flavors include strawberry, vanilla, with a hint of plum. The perfect wine to start the evening… or afternoon if it’s the weekend. Don’t let the twist top fool you, this is a very classy wine and this special closure will make sure that every bottle is a winner. Winemaker Joseph Wagner has done an excellent job selecting fruit from three vineyards stretching across the California coast: Sonoma, Monterey and Santa Barbara County.
If you enjoy this wine then you’ll probably like his wax sealed trio of high end Pinot Noirs. Reed more by visiting his website: Belle Glos Wines.
Conundrum $20-$25
This wine is very popular with the ladies. Just enough residual sugar that it pairs well with just about any meal. I highly recommend this wine with a cheese platter or with a chicken breast dinner. Best served slightly chilled. You might want to get two bottles because you’ll finish the first bottle in a matter of minutes. Winemaker Jon Bolta is a true artist when it comes to blending this wine. Although the math behind the blend is a secret, I can tell you that it’s a combination of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, Muscat, and Semillon. These 5 varietals all come from the beautiful Santa Lucia Highlands.

Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc $29- $32
You can never go wrong when it comes to Schramsberg. Proprietor Hugh Davies and Winemaker Keith Hock work very hard to produce a sparking wine in the same fashion as the best in France. This tradition is known as méthode traditionelle but is also refered to as méthode champenoise in France. It is the most expensive, delicate, and time consuming style of making sparking wine and it shows beautifully in this Blanc de Blanc.
Sometimes you can find an older vintage gathering dust in your local wine shop, still market with the original release price. If you do… BUY IT! Especially if it’s from 2004.
