Caymus Vineyards: Rotation Crop Farming

Frank Gutierrez | June 11th, 2010 - 1:29 pm

Today I learned that when a vineyard is past it’s prime it can be replaced with a rotation crop to amend something to the soil to help grow grapes when you decide to replant.   Chuck Wagner, winemaker at Caymus Vineyards took me out to his rotation crop on this beautiful sunny day to explain how it works.

Be sure to follow Caymus Vineyards on Facebook and Twitter for more great videos.

for years I thought the winemakers were untouchable – gods amongst men…. and now i see Chuck Wagner the creator of some of the most amazing Cab I've ever had – Caymus – as a farmer and teacher and most of all regular person. Frank I love your work because it Humanizes the celebrities of the wine world.
