Australia: Chateau Tanunda

My wife and I absolutely LOVED this Chateau Tanunda 2007 Grand Barossa Shiraz from Australia.  Robust aromas of toasty oak, cedar and a rich smooth taste of vanilla, plum and dark raisin.  The alcohol is 14.5%, making this the perfect wine to enjoy on it’s own, with a favorite cigar or a slice of chocolate cake.  Suggested retail price is $18 in the United States.  I highly recommend this wine if your looking to make a strong impression at your next party.

We also had the opportunity to taste this 2009 Riesling from Chateau Tanunda.  This is a very clean, crisp, white wine with subtle aromas and flavors of peach, tropical fruit and a touch of sweetness. The wine is also sealed with a twist top closure to ensure a perfect bottle every time.  At a suggested retail price of only $15, this wine makes for an excellent aperitif.  Best served chilled and paired with anything from the sea or a fresh caesar salad.
