Murphy-Goode Video: Part 1 – Location Scout

Last Friday, my friend Ben and I did a Location Scout to the beautiful county of Buellton, California to scout a local winery as one of the many backdrops for my Murphy-Goode Video. The manager at Alma Rosa Winery was very friendly and supportive. They gave us the freedom to explore the area… and their wines were amazing!

One of my goals for the video is to express the beauty behind the family owned winery lifestyle, which I believe Murphy-Goode contributes to in the Sonoma County. While on location, we took lots of photos to document our favorite camera positions and which areas are best for natural light.

Enjoy!

A Real Goode Job Opportunity

Murphy-Goode Winery in Sonoma County is looking for a wine expert with Web 2.0 experience to help move their marketing into the new age of the internet.

This refers to the next generation of web development and design (i.e. blogging, facebook, twitter, ect.)  Applicants from all over the US are submitting their videos in hopes of receiving this prestigious position.  The job pays 10K a month, for 6 months, with lodging included in the beautiful town of Healdsburg.

When I first heard about this I thought it was too good to be true.  So I revisited my newsletters from Wine Business Monthly and discovered that this is a trend that all wineries are soon to follow and that this is my opportunity to move into the business that is so close to my heart.

I’m no stranger to the wine country, making videos, Web 2.0 or even the town of Healdsburg.  I was born and raised in the Napa Valley, went to high school in Healdsburg, and have a BFA in Motion Pictures & Television from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

For the last four years I have been sharpening my skills in the commercial business in Los Angeles and have an in-depth knowledge of what it takes to produce a high end commercial.  Now I will apply those skills to produce a commercial that expresses my passion for the wine business.

For me, the art of making wine is a beautiful circle of life; a miracle that I need to be apart of.  Between projects you will find me in the wine country, meeting people in the industry, tasting their work and discussing the politics and technology that are changing the wine business. I am very excited about this opportunity and I hope you will keep a look out for my video – which I’m working hard to please my viewers and to land this really goode job!
