Best Local Restaurants

Planning a trip to Napa Valley and need some restaurant recommendations?  The photo above is from Zinsvalley Restaurant in downtown Napa, one of the many places I’ve been going to for years and invite you to experience.

ZINSVALLEY RESTAURANT (Lunch & Dinner)

This restaurant has been a family favorite for many years for its fun, hip, atmosphere and inspiring approach to American Cuisine.  I’m a big fan of Chef Greg Johnson’s Pork Chop (image above) and his new Smoked Salmon Pizza.  Their service is excellent and the bar tenders are real wizards with the mixed drinks.  They also have an extensive list of wines that pair well with food, especially the Green & Red “Tip Top Vineyard” Zinfandel from Chiles Valley.  With lots of windows for natural light, extended patio seating and a sports bar to catch the big game, you’re sure to become a regular at Zinsvalley.  MENU and MAP.

GILLWOODS CAFE (Breakfast)

My favorite place to have breakfast in Downtown Napa.  On my first visit I ordered the mouth watering Applewood Smoked Bacon and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since.  The menu is huge, the prices are great and the atmosphere is very cozy, spacious, and they have additional outdoor seating. This is the perfect place to bring your family on the weekend.  Be sure to order the Chicken Fried Streak with Home Fries…  to die for!!!  They also have a second location in St. Helena.  MENU and MAP (Napa) – MAP (St. Helena)

VILLA CORONA (Dinner)

If you love Mexican food then look no further because it doesn’t get any better than Villa Corona.  This place is so good and they have a second location in St. Helena.  The prices or great and the portions are HUGE and packed full of flavor!  My wife and I like to split the Super Chicken Burrito and if you love Pork then your in for a real treat.  Colorful atmosphere filled with art and music.  MENU and MAP (Napa) – Map (St. Helena).

SODA CANYON STORE (Lunch)

This place makes the best sandwiches for your Napa Valley picnic.  I recommend that you call ahead (707) 252-0285 and place your order for pick-up because it gets real busy at lunch time.  It’s located on Silverado Trail near great wineries like Judds Hill and Regusci.  Nice places to have a picnic lunch.  I always get a Turkey Sandwich, on Sour Roll, with Smoked Gouda and everything.  Always Delicious and Refreshing!  MENU and MAP.

SUNSHINE FOODS (Lunch)

If you start your Wine Tasting experience from St. Helena, then you need to stop at Sunshine Foods and fill up your picnic basket.  They have a huge selection of cheese, meats and their Deli section can have your sandwich order ready in a matter of minutes.  These guys are very good at their job and they’ll have you back on the road in no time.  Great tasting sandwiches and everything else you’ll need to make this the best wine country tour ever.  Arger-Martucci Vineyards and Trespass Vineyards are two great places to pair our lunch with amazing wines.  WEBSITE and MAP.

I hope you like these restaurants and have an awesome wine country experience to remember.  Cheers.
